As we sit here admiring our much-loved artwork, it completely blows us away to think that it has now been 3 months since it adorned our living room wall. It seems even more unbelievable to think that this journey all started with an 11pm email back in September 2021. And whilst that seems like a long time now, we would not change one thing about it. William’s passion for our idea and wanting to be a part of that was evident from our first communication. Although we knew each other from our days in high school on the Gold Coast, we had essentially been strangers for some 20 years. But that did not stop William treating us as his lifelong friends – something now which we will always be. His passion was evident from our first interaction, with him immediately assigning us “homework” so he could create an image in his own mind. That creativity was infectious, and we immediately started to come up with thoughts which William managed to compile, explain to us, and then create our beautiful piece of art. It truly was a journey, which William took us on. Although we live on opposite sides of the world, it never at any time felt like we were more than a few streets apart. William’s communication, description and updates made us feel like we were getting his best work and undivided attention, each time. We were so confident of William’s direction, talent, and commitment – and the overall finished product – we did not physically lay eyes on a picture of our own masterpiece, until he personally hung it on our wall here in Australia. And to say we were blown away is a massive understatement. If you are having doubts about getting a commission with William, please don’t. Not only will you be totally amazed with the outcome, but you will be engaged and excited throughout the whole process, and beyond. To have a person tell you that “this is their best work” in reference to your own commission truly is humbling.
